VUSI Filmworks is a media start-up from Indie Producer/Director/Writer,
Telling emotionally gripping stories is Gilda’s specialty. She’s traveled the globe creating non-fiction entertainment for ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, PBS, VH1, Discovery, ABC Family, TLC, HGTV, SOAPnet and OWN.
Gilda most recently enjoyed success as an Executive Producer on four seasons of VH1’s hit franchise Love & Hip Hop (2012, 2013, 2014, 2016). The series consistently dominates weekly cable as the #1 non-scripted program and rules social media with #LHH.
In 2007, Gilda produced/directed Oprah’s ABC primetime special, Building A Dream, the acclaimed documentary on The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy in South Africa. Gilda also collaborated with Ms. Winfrey’s Harpo Studios on several other philanthropic projects in Africa, as well as in New Orleans, after Hurricane Katrina (2005). With OWN’s launch on cable, Gilda served as co-Executive Producer of Ryan & Tatum: The O’Neal’s (2011) .
In 2003, Gilda helped produce Profiles from the Front Line, a documentary series for Jerry Bruckheimer/ABC, as told from the POV of U.S. troops in Afghanistan. Upon migration from Massachusetts to California in 2000, Gilda enlisted as a field producer with the Los Angeles bureau of ABC News, contributing hard news and feature segments to Nightline, 20/20, Primetime Live, and World News Tonight.
Gilda’s volunteer service includes work for International Documentary Association (Board of Directors), and the Television Academy/Emmys (Reality Peer Group Executive Committee).
